Microsoft dropped the ball in FIFA 20 when it came to the game’s presentation.

It will be interesting to see whether FIFA 22 can bring back that feeling of being immersed in a new game. It’s important that the game feels authentic, but that it also serves as the flagship for the new game engine with all the new innovations Microsoft has added to this year’s edition of the series. It’s been a bumpy road to the FIFA launch after the issues with FIFA 19, which was itself the result of many missteps by EA.

Here’s everything you need to know about FIFA 22.

What does FIFA 22 offer?

It’s still FIFA, of course, the biggest game of its kind. But EA has brought some major changes to the series’ presentation.

We’re now in the Age of Post-Game Presentation.

Now, more than ever before, there is no separation between the game and its modes, presentation and gameplay. In fact, EA often presents the modes in the game itself. We also have a better sense of just how deeply that EA and DICE know the core FIFA game. With 20 years behind it, FIFA 22 does a solid job of reaching into your soul and telling you why you loved the game when you were playing it.

And there’s a nice, new Pro-Am mode – a mode that’s meant to be more accessible for novices. A five-a-side mode, in fact, which is only available on FIFA Ultimate Team.

The best way I can describe the new additions to FIFA is that they keep the things you love about the game and make it even better. Then they launch into hyperbole, using the game’s big release date and word of mouth as an excuse.

How does FIFA 22 look?

FIFA 22 is the biggest game of its type, and that will feel more real than it has in some time. EA has focused hard on improving the performance of the game engine and it’s paying off.
